You've never been in my shoes

"don't judge me"

How could you know?

The way I feel right now,

If you haven't worn my shoes,

Every day feels unreal to me.

When I wake up, they also arrive.

In my thoughts

They are always with me.

They follow me wherever I go.

I mean my problems and anguish.

Even if I get drunk,

I keep trying to forget them.

When I get sober, they return.

They have taken over my life.

I wish it was possible to just throw them away.

Sometimes I laugh to ease the anguish.

Sometimes I play music to distract myself.

I can feel the anguish, but I have no control over it.

They crush me slowly, and I cry every day.

I ask you not to judge me.

You have no idea how I feel.

You don't know how they control me.

You've never been in my shoes.

that's so true and yet, on another note, a few of my friends have been through worse. I thought my friend had it all - until her son died. Mine had been sick his entire life, but he's still here. I may not have money, bills keep mounting up, but I still have my family. Good writing. Made me count my blessings.
