You've Lost Me

Short Reflection Story

By Jorga HernandezPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

Hello.

I think you might have left me.

See, I remember the bright fire that stung my cheeks and the serene heavenly feeling of white. I remember the snowflakes in your lashes. I remember your scarf.

Your snow packed hands, turning blue.

Remember? Remember this? The fresh crunch of snow being condensed into ice, the cold feeling numbing me. Making me happy. I feel like I'm being condensed by it now. Right now. The amazing sound of water dripping from trees, the smell, oh how clean it smelled. The branches, I remember. They fell, and all I saw was snow.

Black snow.

So, you see, you've lost me, and as I'm preserved in the icy depths of this forest, I can still hear your heart beat. I still feel it. It's cold now, but I know you.

You're close.
