You Saved Me
In moments where I felt like I was sinking, you came and pulled me back in.

I was lost, in the middle of the ocean.
Left to fend for myself
I was tired, struggling to keep my head above water but I kept kicking
Giving myself the chance to keep fighting;
The darkness became my friend, the crashing waves keeping me company
Until one day as the sun began to set
I saw a boat in the distance, you were sailing the deep sea
Seeking some direction, our eyes met at first glance
And in an instant, I found my strength again to keep my head up
You made your way to me, our eyes never breaking contact
You pulled me into your boat and together we found our way back
You gave me the strength to breathe again
You found me when the rest of the world left me to drown
The only light to guide us, the moons flickering reflection on the dark ocean
But I wasn’t scared, because for the first time in what seemed like forever
I knew that in that moment, on that boat is where I was supposed to be
I might have helped you find your way back but you saved me
You helped me to breathe again
And without you, I don’t feel I would know the strength I do now.
