You're Calling me
Poem: Light Breaks Water Challenge; Based on true events.
I fell, yet don't recall how it happened,
no splash, no scream, only you holding me,
Beneath your surface,
no air to breathe,
The sun shining through, glaring,
I'm floating below, no way to reach,
I stared above, while a blurred face stared back at me,
Your weightless silence,
Your soft, calm,
No fear shed, with you I belong,
You held me, like I have never been before,
a dangerous illusion, that felt like more,
Your effortless intention,
My unknowing soul,
You could have taken me,
Before I would have even known,
Then two hands grabbed me,
Pulling me to the air,
Panic on their faces,
Yet I was not scared,
I was hugged by your immensity,
Connected through the sun shining,
I was just a baby,
Yet the water felt like home to me,
I could have drowned,
I couldn't swim,
Yet I discovered a new piece from within,
Now, when I close my eyes,
You enter my dreams,
And I still see,
The sun hitting your surface,
Glistening,
And I think,
Your transparent identity,
is calling back to me.
