You're blind or Farsighted?

:|

By Maryam BatoolPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

You couldn't see what I did see

I was with that plant and you were standing on that tree

I saw it withered, dull, and almost decaying in the dirt

You said it was all fine and it never actually got hurt

It was calling out to you too; a help or some cure?

But how would you help it? When you weren't even sure!

You said you could see it dancing but it was the dance of despair

I could see its ache, all that pain in its glare

Sometimes, I wonder if you wear a mask or you're blind for real.

It's almost at its death and you say, "What's the deal?"

Oh, maybe not blind—but farsighted? Don't Lie!

If not... How can't you see 'poor-plant'? The gloom in its eye

When it starts to break apart, it looks for you

"You still didn't get it"? Is this true?

My heart is that plant and your blindness is that tree

You stand on your tree while my heart breaks, you see?

You've left me unhealed, unsealed, and unyield

Are you even standing with me in my field?

Frame of references? Ever heard of that?

I studied that and now, they seem like a fact

You are standing in a frame of a blurred way

While my frame shows me my broken side of the clay

My heart was decaying, would you mind showering it?

Your frame had a mirror, but the mirror had only you,

Where was I in your frame—hidden, or unseen too?

Ohh! This is very deep, super deep. I think, out of all the poems of yours that I have read, this one is the deepest and the saddest. It is incredibly impactful—a sensitive and vivid portrayal of deep emotions, unseen pain, and inner struggles. I read it multiple times; it feels so heavy. I hope you are feeling better now. Spread your wings and keep smiling 😊 ⭐✨

Wow, this poem really speaks to me!It captures the frustration of watching something important fall apart while someone else stays oblivious. The frames of reference angle adds depth, reminding me how our perspectives shape our understanding. It's a powerful reflection on the need for empathy! 💕✨

Whoa, this poem totally hits different! It's all about missing the obvious in front of you, like someone watching a plant die and still not getting it. The frames of reference stuff adds a fun twist. Definitely makes you think about how we see things—or don't! 💕✨

Powerful undertones in this one Maryam, I really like the despair in the lines: My heart is that plant, and your blindness is that tree You stand on your tree while my heart breaks, you see? We all have different frames of reference, and re-framing is a process that can be of tremendous value when things are looking particularly grim. And it rhymes - what more could I ask for? Great job.
