You

~

By WriterinWonderPublished 4 years ago 3 min read

Hey, you.

I‘d like to tell you that I can’t wait for the moment when our eyes will meet.

I bet you can’t wait, too.

No, I‘m not trying to read your mind. And maybe, just maybe, you don’t feel it yet.

But I’m almost sure that you know already.

Because you’re smart.

You are smart and lovely and, if I’m lucky enough, I’ll be able to tell you soon.

No, not yet.

We don’t want to haste it, do we?

Let’s just let it unfold naturally.

Maybe you’ll smile first. Maybe when you’ll look up from your phone and our eyes will meet, or you’ll turn around and find yourself right in front of me. And you’ll smile and I’ll smile because I won’t be able to hold it back.

I would love to know how you would react.

How you will react.

Are you the shy type? Or are you bold enough to come to talk to me?

Maybe with a pretext, like, you could ask for the hour or if I know the name of that street. Casual conversation that we won’t want to end there. A second too long, and it will be obvious. To me, to you, to us and to everyone, that there is something.

Because, there is.

There will be.

It will start slowly.

Maybe we can be friends, at first. But no, I don’t think that we will.

I mean, of course, we will be friends.

The best friends.

But that friendship will grow together with this sparkle that I can see in your eyes. That something that makes it impossible to stay aside and watch.

But yes, let’s not rush it.

It will take its own course.

You’re impatient, aren’t you?

Me too.

And, I promise you, I will become my best for you.

I messed up in the past, yes, but now it’s different.

You are different.

I know you are.

And, thanks to you, I am becoming my better self.

Patient, loving, caring.

You are changing me.

You will change me.

Because you’re smart and charming.

And a bit flirty, aren’t you?

Just with me, I hope.

I am a jealous type, yes.

But I trust you.

I want to trust you.

And if there’ll be trust we’ll be able to embrace each other and maybe finally accept ourselves and our lives and live, from now on, in a happy bubble that we’ll create. Our bubble. Our safe space. Our warmth.

That is what I want.

And you want it too, don’t you?

Somewhere to hide, where we’ll be able to be true to ourselves. It’s lonely, out here, but it won’t be. I promise you that you’ll never be lonely again.

I’ll be always there for you.

Just a little bit more time. Give me just some time.

I’m looking for you.

It’s not easy, but I’ll find you, I promise.

We’ve never seen each other, but that’s ok. I know who I’m looking for. I can’t be mistaken.

Because it’s you.

You.

You that will ignite in me that something that’s hiding inside me just for your sake. This fire that I hide, because it’s yours.

It’s always been.

And as soon as I’ll see you, I’ll know.

I’ll know because I always knew.

We’re apart now and I almost can’t bear it anymore.

But I’ll be patient.

Just a little bit more.

And we’ll love. This will be the kind of love that will never cease.

The final one.

The one that will make us wonder how we could think that we knew what love was.

The one that will be. Just be.

The one that will last until the end. Our end.

Together.

But we shouldn’t talk about the end right from the start, should we?

There is no need.

Hey, you.

You.

Oh, you.

You need comfort. Someone to look for. To trust. To hold close.

I know.

Someone who will walk with you.

Because it is a lonely place, this world. We all need someone to share it with.

Someone that will complete you. The missing piece that you’re looking for.

I will be.

I will always be there.

I will be there, at your side, against all the odds and challenges that they will throw at us.

I will never leave.

I promise.

I promise.

So, wait for me.

We’ll meet.

Soon.
