I don't want to be a know it all
Who has to be everywhere all the time
I don't want to be that someone who always has to have the answer for everyone about everything
I don't want to be that person that is always chasing to be the resolution for all.
I don't want to be the one who imposes myself on everybody else's business.
I don't want to be someone that has to try and please everyone.
I don't have to be the one that everybody loves.
No thank you to that!!!
I'm afraid of a person like that.
Instead I just want to be me.
I want to be simple and uncomplicated.
I don't have to be loved by everyone.
I don't need to have all the answers.
I can say, "I don't know."
I can just relax and take it easy.
I don't have to chase… I can just let things come to me.
I don't have to be number one...
I'm okay with being number two or even number nine thousand nine hundred and ninety nine.
I'm okay if I ruffle some feathers along the way or if someone dislikes me for one reason or another. Because frankly I am just not perfect and I'm not going to pretend to be.
I'm just going to be ole RHC who was born in the poor side of Bakersfield. Who due to circumstances hasn't had a job in the last 30 months and lives off of welfare and the graciousness of a few.
I'm just gonna be the me who quit college at age nineteen to try and be a rock and roll star but failed because of an ugly ego.
I'm going to be the me who likes to do things my way and not the way of conformity or the way that others try to tell me how I should be.
I'm going to be the one who says he believes in prayer and God in a room full of atheists and I don't even care if they tell me that I believe in make believe fairy tales.
I am going to wear my Nike shoes and kneel with Colin Kaepernick and if you call me unpatriotic I could care less.
I don't care if people talk behind my back and take screenshots of things I've written online or in private conversations so they can use it against me.
I simply don't care. Go ahead and throw those stones at me. I'm stronger than that.
Why?
Because I am going to simply just be me.
Because in the end deep down inside my core - I love the person that I am and I love those few that love me for who I am - warts, and pimples, and all.
* * * Oh... and I love you too... I honestly do!

How are they stones if they're using You against You? Shouldn't we reflect upon ourselves, look in the mirror at the things we did do? You make it sound treacherous that they're using screenshots. Yet, if that's the proof of Your real behavior, that's ammo You gave them, they got. Yes, we all want to be the main character of our own story. Yet, if we don't control our ego-centric pride, then others will start to worry. If You make the same mistakes again and again, did You really learn? If people that have flocked all keep leaving, that's only a sign of all the bridges You've burned. Sometimes You're really the one at fault, not the one being victimized. Is it wrong for people to stand up to rude behavior that You, Yourself, have standardized? You know? Most people get along even if they have different beliefs. Yet, if You act rude, don't be surprised when they leave You that they find relief. If You want to be simplistic be congruent. Don't erase Your words or actions. Apologize earnestly for Your fault. You have to stick to it.

Yes, yes, yes, Rick! I SO agree! I always say that you cannot please the world. Actually, you should never settle for a "everyone likes me" attitude. If you don't ruffle a few feathers once in a while, you are doing things wrong. ;-) As long as we don't intentionally hurt others, it's very important to be yourself 24/7.

If someone is taking screenshots of private conversations that you've had and trying to use it against you, it shows that they're way too focused on bringing you down and not focused enough on their own behavior. Bravo on Top Story!

A fun read. The world seems to be full of people whose identity is based on very loudly calling someone else wrong or stupid or foolish. Nice you have your own basket of opinions and not one of those standard checklists out there these days. Luckily, I live overseas and feel very distant from politics and the hyperbole I read about in the news which makes it easier.

I am an atheist. I don't care if you pray. I think Colin Kaepernick and Nike were completely full of shit. I also think all the flag-waving patriotism is bullshit too. I don't care if you kneel or stand up and take off your hat. Do whatever the hell you think is best. Just don't try to team up with the state and make me do what you think is best. Because I simply will not participate. You see, that seems to be the issue, and people are starting to FINALLY catch on. The state uses our personal beliefs as ways to manipulate us. Whether they want your vote, your income, your time, or whatever else, every single issue on both sides is, for them, nothing more than a way to manipulate us against each other. Both sides will argue it's just the other side. But it's neither side. It's "they". "They" care even less than I do. But they love to keep tabs on what we care about, because that makes us easier to manipulate. Who are "they"? Well, either you know or you don't. But "they" are real. I will leave it at that. As for YOU. YOU I respect. And I love you too, buddy. Take care.
