You Lose

S.E.Linn

By S. E. LinnPublished about a year ago Updated about a month ago 1 min read

I still can't believe you have done that to me,

Didn't get what you wanted,

chose revenge so I'd see.

When you screamed, "You're mine, I want YOU, kitty cat!"

That's not love, it's possession,

I'm not falling for that.

When you said let's commit,

Take the girls off your cell,

Post us on Facebook,

Tell the world that you fell

deep in love with one woman

Who's been secret for years,

Well, what of your harem?

Without them your fears

of anyone knowing the you that I do,

might surface, then what?

What on earth would you do?

If everyone saw that you are vacant inside,

just a wounded child, on a ten-cent mall ride.

Trapped by your past,

A victim of pain.

Instead of riding through Hell,

You're consumed by its flames.

And you want me to tell you

go and act like you do,

Consider not others

just to gratify you?

"But, I want YOU!" You screamed,

Well, my answer is, No.

Want is not love,

It's not right for my soul.

So, instead of being the man you pretend,

You were mean and so vicious

and determined to end

a friendship with me,

Someone who cared.

A woman who cried for five years that you shared.

Oh, your flying monkeys

are no match for me.

Saw them coming miles off,

in lace bras and panties.

Your posts were insidious,

enlisted your troops.

You got one of them to text me goodbye

late last June.

Here kitty, kitty pay attention to me,

"But, I want you!" You screamed.

Well, you can't fool me,

That's control, not love.

That is war, not peace.

I stand on my own

and will remain free.

I sure won't commit to a man who can't lead.

The lies and deception,

the games and deceit.

Are byproducts of a man with no faith,

who must cheat.

"But I want you!" You screamed,

I heard you, I know,

Well, too fucking bad,

I am choosing to go.

You said, "No one will ever love you this way!"

Thank God for that,

For that's the moment I'll stay.
