You Know The Feeling

When you’re slightly just right buzzed

By Robin EdwardsPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

You know the feeling that you get

When you’re slightly “just right” buzzed

In the dimness of the fading light

you feel at peace...”just cuz”

You’re warm with a hushed happiness

And thrown back in time

Fleetingly remembering

A simple childhood rhyme

Who was that girl & guy

sitting in a tree

K-I-S-S-I-N-G

And now they must be genderless

Lest they offend you & me

Oh the strange things I think about

When my mind lets go of clutter

Thoughts flow with a tranquil ease

Like a hot knife through butter

Simple times

For simple minds

Creating simple rhymes

Enjoying simple observations

In the simple things I find

surreal poetry
