You just up and left me

Now I can’t cope. My heart breaks for us again

You just up and left me

You left me when I needed you

More than the air I breathe,

A hollow space, an aching void,

No comfort to reprieve.

The echoes of your parting steps

Still linger in my mind,

A melody of absence sung

By time that’s far from kind.

Yet even as I falter here,

My heart still softly beats,

For hope remains, a quiet flame,

In loss, it still repeats.

Your memory lingers in the breeze,

A touch I cannot hold,

A fleeting warmth, a distant light,

A story left untold.

Though you are gone, your trace remains,

A whisper in my heart and ears,

And through the pain, I try to carry on,

Yet my heart won’t let me be whole
