You have to go

A poem

You have to go

And I've done everything, EVERYTHING

Within my power

Not to have to tell you this

But I don't love you anymore

I don't even like you much

Or even know you

Such is the extent of your shutdown

Nothing worked

It nearly killed me

A thousand relationship talks, books, videos, therapists

A thousand tiny cuts

A thousand rejections

A thousand hurts

A thousand blurts

I can no longer be in this room with you

This house with you

Hold space for you

Who am I now?

I no longer know

And that is why, you have to go.
