You feel like a haunted house

Neglected and abandonded .

The ghosts of regret and pain howl in the hallways of your mind.

You can't recognize yourself

The sunlight can't reach your darkened heart, nor can you smile.

They say your body is a temple

Something that is sacred, and divine

Something to be cherished above all

But what happens when you've become too broken beyond repair?

When the inhabitants of your life mistreat you over and over

And track mud all over the carpets, stains on the walls?

They brought nothing but terrible memories

And don't bother to clean it up or help for that matter.

You try to paint over the mistakes, and fill in the cracks

But nothing is quite the same is it?

You're still a terrifying shell of your former self,

You're an undead creature, bumbling along

Reaching out for the living to save you.
