All the beauty, the filth, the joy, and the anguish
People who look at me and go "We're one in the same."
In that our pain and experiences mirror each other
In that our interests and passions align like twin stars.
They let me know I'm less alone
Less filled with sorrow and less afraid
They make me feel more happy and loved.
The unrivaled experience of being understood as I am
Bestows onto me a strength no weapon can wield,
As the bonds I forged with kindred spirits are far stronger than any storm.
Their empathy grants me shelter from the raging hurricane that resides in my heart
Their acceptance of me as a whole is warmer than a blanket in any blizzard
The love and gratitude I feel for them stops me from tearing my own world apart.
Even in my darkest moments, they manage to be there before a blink or a heartbeat
Something more powerful than a light at the end of a tunnel.
My loved ones are the physical embodiment of the sun shinning in my life.
And I the same for them.
