You Don't Own Me

A Poem

By Angel AdagioPublished about a year ago 1 min read

My body is a temple, they say

yet it's only something everyone wants to come in and enjoy,

but if I hide my body, I'm not worth the attention.

Society having a say on how I'm supposed to look,

my mind wanting to follow the leader and my heart wanting to scream "NO".

Your labels do not match me and I will not alter my form for your pleasure,

one use only,

I'm not another notch in your belt for you to get wet dreams from.

Break me down, falling piece by piece,

let me rebuild myself again

the way I want to be.

    They way you resembled temple with your body! Oh god... Beautifully written. This time rebuild your body for your sake not for someone to enjoy it <3
