Convenient Friend
A Poem
By Angel AdagioPublished about a year ago • Updated about a year ago • 1 min read

I thought that our bond was stronger that the roots it came from,
like a tree standing tall for centuries,
that you and I didn't need to constantly be at the edge of our seats begging for release from our prison,
that we could find the light in the darkest of situations and nothing would break us.
I guess I had a different definition of unconditional love,
as long as the conditions were alright
you could love me.
But if the A standard ever got changed to a letter below,
I only have the silence to listen to
and you're nowhere to be seen.
