You Don't Lose Them

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

Verse 1

You bowed with your heart in namaste

No grasping, no clinging, just truth on display

You moved like water, spoke like flame

But they turned away, called it strange

Verse 2

You walked the Eightfold Path alone

Right speech, right mind, right stepping stone

No need to chase, no need to prove

Just presence in each breath you move

Chorus

When your intentions are pure

You don’t lose people, they lose you

Like lotus rising through the mud

You bloom in silence, not for the view

No karma owed, no debt to pay

You gave with love, then walked away

When your intentions are pure

You don’t lose people, they lose you

Verse 3

You held space like a sacred pose

Rooted deep, but soft as rose

And those who feared the stillness there

Couldn’t meet you in the open air

Bridge

Let go, like leaves in autumn wind

No judgment, no need to defend

Compassion doesn’t beg to stay

It bows, then gently walks away

Final Chorus

When your intentions are pure

You don’t lose people, they lose you

Like incense rising in the dark

You leave a trail, but not a mark

No grasping hands, no tethered ties

Just truth beneath samsara’s skies

When your intentions are pure

You don’t lose people, they lose you
