They Lose You

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

Verse 1

You showed up with your hands wide open

No mask, no game, no words unspoken

You gave your truth like a sacred flame

But they walked away just the same

Verse 2

You didn’t ask for more than grace

Just a heart that wouldn’t turn its face

But some folks fear what’s real and kind

They trade gold for what’s easier to find

Chorus

When your intentions are pure

You don’t lose people, they lose you

You stood in love, you stood in light

They chose the shade, they missed what’s right

It’s not your fault, it’s not your shame

You gave your soul, not just your name

When your intentions are pure

You don’t lose people, they lose you

Verse 3

You learned to walk with quiet pride

To bless the ones who couldn’t stay by your side

And though it hurts, you still believe

That truth returns to those who grieve

Bridge

Let them go, let them roam

You’re not the lesson they were shown

But you’re the light they’ll miss someday

When all their noise fades away

Final Chorus

When your intentions are pure

You don’t lose people, they lose you

You gave them love, you gave them peace

They couldn’t hold what doesn’t cease

It’s not your fault, it’s not your shame

You gave your soul, not just your name

When your intentions are pure

You don’t lose people, they lose you
