You don't cross my mind

just when I see mountains

By Benjamin KibbeyPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
Leigh Lake, near Libby, Montana

You don't cross my mind much,

Just when I see mountains,

Or clouds in the distance

Or a small tile fountain.

When I watch a movie,

Or go out to eat,

When I take a walk

Or just take a seat.

When I think of living

Or how life must end,

When I am not sleeping,

I think of you friend.

When I need some happy

I've even been known

To pull up your smile

And see how you've grown.

When I need a reason

Beyond my own whims

For doing a good thing

Or trying again,

It's often the case

I imagine your voice

And to think you'd admire

Makes simpler choice.

So, I don't think of you often,

Because I often must sleep,

And so in those hours

I must see you in dreams.
