You did not have to make food so diverse and colorful,
but you did.
With gratitude in between bites,
I thank you for the texture of the peas,
and the way carrots look like the trunks of trees.
I thank you for the orange that is sweet,
and for all that you've made, it's all such a continuing treat!
You did not have to make people so diverse and colorful,
but you did.
Every shade of skin,
they all are for the win.
Every texture of hair,
sometimes, it’s hard not to admire and stop and stare.
There is such awe all around,
watching, listening, absorbing,
it takes time to process and understand.

This is such a warm, heartfelt celebration of life’s richness! Now I'm craving chicken nuggets but I'm fasting lol.🤤
Oh, I really like this poem Jesse - I like the rhyming and the gratefulness of it with all the colors and that photo. 💚💕❤️🌈👏
Loved it. We need to be grateful. We need to feed people, if we can.
