You Can’t Take It Back

Think before you speak

You Can’t Take It Back

You can’t take what’s been said back

once it’s out, it stays

not in the air but in the ear

in the chest

in the heart

It’s not a wound that scabs with time

it’s not a thing that fades

a word, once thrown, has perfect aim

and always finds its place

So choose what you say carefully next

not just for them, but you

because some things echo the dark

and nothing cuts like truth

Mean it or don’t, but never pretend

what’s broken might still mend

a tongue can build or tear to shreds

and when it does, it ends

not in regret

not even in shame

just silence

and your name

So think before you spea.

My parents taught me that and I still follow that rule, but it's hard at times. Good job on a lesson we all need to learn and follow.
