You can’t Hide those Spaced Out Eyes
Sung to Lying Eyes by the Eagles
Sometimes Joe’s gets a bit Squirrley
And all we get is an empty smile
But you should know that surely
It not just a question of style
Late at night the White House gets lonely
I guess every form of refuge has its price
And it breaks Jill’s heart that Joe now only
Has stares that are cold as ice
They get Joe ready for an evening
To show that he’s not down
But Joe is left grieving
Because now he looks like a clown
You can’t hide those spaced out eyes
And an empty smile is a thin disguise
I thought by now you’d realize
There’s just no way to hide those spaced out eyes
He is sometimes looks lost and untethered
And he mumbles every once and awhile
They swear that soon he’ll be better
And we get another empty smile
Man that debate was a poor one
Joe fell a part before our eyes
Another show, how long until it’s done
All of his supporters are left to cry
You can’t hide those spaced out eyes
And an empty smile is is a thin disguise
I thought by now you’d realize
There’s just no way to hide those space out eyes
Has poor old Joe gone gone completely crazy
My God someone wipe off the drool
Has his staff fled or are they lazy
Joe now plays the part of the fool
Oh my they sure know how to arrange things
They set him up so well, so carefully
Ain’t it funny how they couldn’t change things
He’s still the same old man he used to be
You can’t hide those spaced out eyes
And an empty smile is a thin disguise
I thought by now you’d realize
There’s just no way to hide those spaced eyes

You can’t hide those spaced out eyes- what a line. It makes you sit down and think about it... so well done.
