Your perspective does not stand alone
By itself in a corner lifeless as a stone
But there you sit pompous and fake
In your arrogance, you make a great mistake
Your foolish assumption that the moon must align
With your orbit and center with your every whine
It is a very large world that we all live within
And to comprehend it all you will never even begin
So you must expand your understanding of all views
For each of us has had to pay both penance and dues
No person is an island unto himself or herself
And your disagreement will not put my mind on a shelf
There is so much that we can all learn from this diversity
So if I allow you to speak and you will allow me
We will all of us be so much the better off
If only you will attempt to listen rather than scoff.
