You Are Me

Loud is the echo

Aren’t you tired of the pain

in your broken heart

hatred’s burning through your soul

Your mind is screaming to be set free

You’re chained up inside

like you want me to be

Don’t you know

there’s a mirror

where you are me

And our voices are ringing

in harmony

You are me

that’s the truth that you run from

You are me

that’s the womb that we come from

You are me

that’s the fact that you just can’t face

You are me

it’s the knowledge you can’t erase

Run away if you choose

but the truth is the news

and it’s waiting for you

You are me

Just walk away

from the shell of your hardened heart

Shed the skin your love has been hiding in

Don’t turn away

Every dawn is a brand new day

You are me - you are me

You’ve been longing for serenity, eternally

I am the part of you

That you can’t see

Can’t you feel it - you’re not alone, completely

Because inside of you is me

My arms outstretched

Long for your embrace

Fast we are falling

Through this empty space

Loud is the echo

Deep is the chasm

Vast is the love of humanity

You are me - you are me

Reflecting so clearly

you know my face

It’s you that you see

When you look at me

echoing back in your mind

Your heart’s inside you

but it’s mine

You are me
