Yesterday He Saved Her

Black dog...

By Steve TysonPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Yesterday he saved her

unknowingly

but not effortlessly

her eyes, the wind

clouds as black as coal

She hastened to the edge

unhappy

unqualified, unsure

her mood the sky

fear doused in sauvignon blanc

He ran to the top

hurting

harassed, hopeful

his need still strong

pride and pride the enemies

he looks to the sky

looks ominous

yes

five minutes I’d say

yes

far to go?

no

watch the path

yes

slippery underfoot

yes

He smiled and returned

to the track

he stopped and looked back

she raised her head to the wind

and cried

He called to her

you’ll be missed

she turned and smiled

no

yes

........maybe

heartbreak
