The stars looked over me as I slept
& the moon covered me from shooting stars. While trees would give me more oxygen to breathe, than I could ever need.
Yet, when the sun failed to show. I had forgotten how the rays would warm my soul.
I’d get lost in the clouds of blue. Sometimes, purple and pink.
When I’d wake up to yellow rays, peaking through my window shades.
I would feel the whispers of warmth and thanked the universe for the day.
My skin would absorb the sun rays. While my hair would transform to a field of blooming lavenders.
The yellow rays would magnify my eyes from a deep brown to the shades of yellow on autumn leaves.
The sun had always loved me and we had no boundaries. I understood her value, and showed her gratitude.
Forever my friend,
who strengthens my melanin and flows with sweet inheritance.
Never to hurt me but to heal me. And reveal my true beauty.
Forever my warm yellow friend, until time puts us to a end.
