Writing Poems Using Only the Letters in Onomatopoeia
Impossible Poetry Challenge #2

Impossible Poetry Rules
- Use of AI like Chat GPT is not allowed.
- Can only use words that can be formed using letters in Onomatopoeia.
- Maximum 15 minutes on each poem.
- Keep faithful to the poetry formats chosen.
- Available letters: A E I M N O P T
- Letters we can’t use: B C D F G H J K L Q R S U V W X Y Z
We’ve got four out of the five vowels, which is good. It means we can flexible with certain words. Not being able to have S or H means I miss out using a lot of pronouns.
Trying with Chat GPT is a waste of time anyway. Out of curiosity, I tried it. The AI dosen’t grasp the concept of using only certain letters of the alphabet. It will pick up the prompt, but will continue to generate sonnets using other letters outside of the ones we are allowed to use.
Haiku
I am a top man
Meant to name it not pop it

Sonnet

Paint an ant, paint pain, an option too tan.
A nap on a mat: anti pitman imp.
A nap on a top pitman pan.

I am onto mint tea to top man tamp.
Mint teapot paint onto Anime map
I tip a moon. I tip a Tempo amp.
I aim on a piano Teapot tap
🚰
I eat mint oat in a top. I am mine.
I tip a motion. I am an inmate.
I eat emotion. I am a pantine.
I am a mint tea potion poet mate.
🏡
I am antiman not an emotion,
A main atom into a mint motion
I was so close to running out of time on this one. Never before have I felt my body tense and sweat so much with words. It’s very repetitive, and it was a real struggle to get the rhyme and the metre in place. One way around this was to do the rhyming words first and to keep the lines within ten syllables. Other than that I did have a lot of fun, but at the same time I don’t know what is going on with this poem.
Acrostic
Pea potion; a neat pine
It paint pitman too
A pet ate tame too
No moo eat meat too
Oat mint tea time
I went on a stump with this one. Struggling to form a sentence with limited letters is really awakening. I feel that this acrostic is trying to embrace a plant-based life.
Here’s my last poetry challenge I did for myself:
