Writing in The Dark

Empty Shell

Mirrors of emptiness,

Stand before me.

I cant even see,

It's my own enemy.

Creeping into me,

Infecting reality.

Reflecting duality,

Through all I meet.

Lies and deceit,

Lying at my feet.

A candy cover,

Fake but Sweet.

Removing the mask,

We finally meet.

An empty shell,

Incomplete.

Set on repeat,

Trying to defeat,

The darkness,

Within the self.

Peering out,

Full of doubt,

And fear,

Filling space,

Breathing air,

It doesn't really care.

Just bodies standing there.

Living in Their cells.

It's hard to tell,

It mirrors well,

Your Enemy,

Is an Empty Shell.
