Writer's Insanity

The Endangered Word

Writer's Insanity

Some may say that insanity is unwarranted,

Piling upon me words causing thoughts unwanted.

But if this is the life I’m ordained to live,

Then so be it and let me you outlive.

Shattered words, thoughts, and dreams,

Keep me looking and searching to redeem.

In valley low and dry bones I must pass,

Until I pass through your slanderous crass.

For any of us to become who we are,

Will lay open bare skin and leave many a scar.

Yet I keep my thoughts to myself for safekeeping,

For if made known to some will leave them gasping.

Personal thoughts and imaginations a plenty,

Plastered on walls and pages a great many.

For in these places where words create stories,

Leave behind smiles, questions, and glory!
