TO KICK OUT ALL THE BLUES

So I turned to leave the room. It’s a quiet place but I go outside to the park where

Its busy and children are running, and moms are chasing babies, and dogs are barking,

There are fast cars zooming by--

I climb a tree for a moment and feel the breeze in my face. Bright green leave brush me in the face.

“Hey, get down from there!” a guy walking by yells to me. He says that’s a rare old tree.

I don’t understand.

So I lay in the grass and cross my feet--

I'll go home and get my notebook for today, a green one. I'll write what I feel and the things I dream. To remember them. To recite them. To rehearse what I plan to be. It might not seem like much.
