Worthy of the Stump

Beneath the Soil, the Climb Begins

By Tales from a MadmanPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

In line with the recent them the creative agents in my mind have been running with, we follow the life of a magic seed. Springing forth into life and a life worth living. The trials and tribulations it goes through only make it stronger, just as they have done for me.

Let us witness life from birth and before.

Life hidden beneath earth

Buried under layers

Stashed away for birth

Sprouts despite naysayers

Thrown to a journey not grey-

But black and white

It doesn’t know but goes the way

Parts dark, and others light

Suffering takes turns with thriving

The bending branch rises and falls

Time spent reaching or writhing

High or low, destiny calls

Knowledge earned at each dip

Each bend brings lesson

Success comes with bark ripped

Growth comes from testing

Earth reclaims inevitably

Make the stump worthy

Reach indelibly

Climb higher for your ‘me’

Eventually, we all end up the stump. Some make it there sooner than others. It is not about how high we climb, but how hard. As the branches bend and break, the trunk creaks in the breeze, we rise nonetheless.
