Worst Case Scenario (For Her)
There’s a point beyond which there is no returning. Although at times such a place can seem tempting, it must be avoided. The desire to escape everything at all costs can be truly overwhelming. Where is that point for Her? How does she end up there? How can someone catch her? Is there such a thing as “too far gone?” I hope not…
A shouting cry takes its form in the absence of sound
Her silence is a serenade-
A song that paints bittersweet
A dark room- and groom clothed in black
What scars are left on her heart she finds a way to turn into art
But the scars on her wrist show what else could've been
As if there's no heart in this world we live in
No one should end up standing so close to the worst case scenario
I hope to never describe such a scene
There's an absence of sunlight in her eyes-
And not any color left in her sky
But in her voice is a melody
She can't find a point to anything-
But relief in the song she sings
She's crying in her lyrics
But, somehow, no one thinks a thing
And what does that point to?
Most would say nothing
But to hear but and not listen-
To look but not see
Touching without feeling
Plainly unaware of her trauma as a teen
She's lived her life labeled as a drama queen
That served as a catalyst for a change for the worse in what she believes
She should never have to ask-
"Is this house a home?"
"Would anyone notice if I was gone?"
Without an "I'm proud of you" at her graduation
She's seeking validation
Desperately- something that can't be acquired through currency
The only person she's trying to prove herself to is herself
Stuck under the bar she set, always out of reach
Chasing the wind trying to find perfection
Dissatisfied with her own reflection
She's become a victim, of our world's silent weapon-
Depression
You can see it in her lack of expression
You can see it in what she sees in the mirror
Overwhelmed by the voices
She doesn't like what she's hearing
She isn't liking her choices
To run away with just what she's wearing
And the other-
Her worst case scenario
What I hope to never write about
About the Creator
Josh Morgan
Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.

"She's crying in her lyrics". That was my favourite line! Your poem was so heartbreaking and emotional!
