I used to be afraid of spiders...
Even the thought of them made me nervous.
I feel tiny legs all over my skin...
And I couldn't sleep for the distress.
/
But now I have perspective...
About bigger things to fear than creatures.
It's much larger than I could have thought...
And it's been here, festering, for years.
/
It is the hate boiling the blood of men...
Who seek retribution in imagined slights.
It is the misplaced blame of the Party...
Who want to destroy everything Left of the Right.
/
You see now why I don't fear spiders...
Because the worst thing they can do is bite.
The men look upon us in rage-fueled lust...
We are only pounds of flesh in their eyes.
