Words Left Unspoken

One Day

By Mercedes ChavezPublished about a year ago 1 min read

"What's on your mind?"

Answers honestly, is made to feel like she's being dramatic.

"What's wrong?"

Explains how she's feeling, is made to feel like her feelings are insignificant.

"Why are you crying?"

Speaks on why she's feeling down, is made to feel like she's begging for attention.

"I don't know why you're so upset."

Admits to something that's been bothering her, is made to feel like she's crazy.

"Are you okay?"

She asks consistently when she feels the slightest change in attitude.

"No, it's okay."

Will often be her response when something has upset her, but she's worried if she says anything, it'll upset you.

"Nothing, never mind."

She wants to tell you, but too many times she was made to believe that what she felt was invalid.

The smile that disappears the moment you look away.

She doesn't want you to worry about her, even in her darkest moments, she will keep her smile on you, because she's afraid that if you saw every broken piece of her, she would lose you forever.

She's lost so much already.
