Words

There are words I like to write,

And those I like to say,

Words I think of late at night,

Falling asleep, drifting away…

Words I like to write include:

Colour

Puddle

Shake

I like the patterns of the lines,

And shapes the letters make.

Words I like to speak aloud,

Or hear others say, are:

Earth, Deep

Good, Keep

Arrow, Hiccup, Play.

Other words I like because,

They mean something to me.

They make me think more of myself,

My friends or family.

Truth is a word I strive towards,

Aim to speak honestly,

To admit my faults and failures,

And thoughts of you and me.

Protect is a word I want to own,

To value and know deeper,

Know what it’s like to be kept safe,

And be someone else’s keeper.

Sun, Moon, stars and Universe,

Creation, ocean, nature…

These are words that interest me,

That I’ll learn more about in future.

All these words, I like to write,

To say, or hear, or ponder.

They make me smile and feel just right,

Inspire and make me wonder.
