Words Hurt

Words hurt, and I'm sorry

The power ... of words,

can sometimes be absurd!

Said something I didn't mean,

didn't mean to be mean!

Thought you understood what I meant.

Thought you understood my intent.

But, sadly

my words were bent,

twisted

it was not my intent.

I know,

intentions

don't take the tension away,

don't take the pain away,

don't take away the mistake.

A mistake I too often make.

Takes a lot to make you break.

And I don't want to make you break.

Wasn't my intention to make you break.

I hope you don't think we should take a break.

I know I said something I didn't mean,

and it decreased your dopamine.

Hope you still want to be mine.

For a long time.

The vulnerability of human relationships is beautifully highlighted by your pen in this poem. Even if the intentions are good, the power of words can create serious problems, especially in moments of weakness.

We've all felt the sad regret of saying the wrong thing when we're upset, and unintentionally hurting someone we love. You tapped into universal human emotions with this poetic confession. ⚡💙⚡
