Wordless Wonder

I felt you kick

and wondered how you’d grow

It was some kind of experience

that I wasn’t sure I’d ever know

but with the blessings from God

and a lot of grace

I found myself

in a wonderful place

I was scared

I was tired

I didn’t know what to expect

and I didn’t quite know

what part of my life you would effect

but when it came down to meeting you

and the moment was there

I looked into your eyes

and the feelings were almost too much to bear

I will never be able to put to words

the joy that you bring

and watching you grow

sometimes is unsettling

because the first thing I remember

when I saw those bright, blue eyes

was a small little baby

and a brand new life
