we are woodland peers.

I have come in peace

like the gentlest of geese.

but I do enjoy

while you are as brown

as an acorn’s shell.

my eyes are as shimmering

as turquoise gems

kissed by the sun.

Give me a chance,

I too giggle,

as the dewy celadon grass

tickles my toes.
