Woodland Peace Offering
Free Verse- A Moment of Connection

Have no fear,
we are woodland peers.
I have come in peace
like the gentlest of geese.
🌸
Please don’t fret,
don’t shed a tear.
I may seem as different
as moonlight and sunray,
but I do enjoy
the same things as you.
🌸
Rest easy now,
as you can see,
my fur is as pink
as this delicate daisy,
while you are as brown
as an acorn’s shell.
🌸
Please don’t run,
my eyes are as shimmering
as turquoise gems
kissed by the sun.
Give me a chance,
I too giggle,
as the dewy celadon grass
tickles my toes.
🌸
Hear me out,
I just came by
to gift you this daisy,
and watch your smile bloom,
like the flowers
in this magical glen,
my sweet little friend.
