Wonder Without Harm
On choosing wonder without naivete

It's Lewis Caroll's birthday today, so it's the perfect day to relish in a little wonder.
With a little help from Alice and the gang.
Alice wore blue and white. Not just white. She learned to appreciate wonder...past childhood.
Adulthood, gained. Innocence, intact.
πͺπ©π±
She stands
Imbibing wonder
Silent, pensive
In its presence
Plainly calm.
πͺπ©π±
He dances in
A hat with quick words
Scuttles around the garden,
Greets her,
Falls, and rises.
πͺπ©π±
The mirror shows
An image
For the self
To decide.
πͺπ©π±
Then a half-smile
Borne of adulthood
Doesn't vanish
But stretches with age.
πͺπ©π±
She stands
Accepting wonder
Silent, with a
Stoic smile
Of age
That knows.

So lovely, Michelle!
Great take on the day, and I often stay in "La Rosa" where Lewis Carroll used to stay and has his own themed room there
Lovely poem inspired by one of my favourite stories, characters, and author. :D Thank you for the reminder on Lewis Caroll's birthday, Michelle!
