Without Keys

a poem

My biggest obstacle is the door to my bedroom

Out there is a world with potential but I need results.

The padlock rests on the doorknob on this side.

I forgot where I hid the key, but it's not in here.

There is no potion to make me smaller than I already am

and my tiny voice cannot reach the other side.

So I wake up, voiceless

while my hands search for a key that isn't here anymore.

There is a window, a large one

I could get out that way.

But no one will know

and if one day someone decides to break down that door

They will find nothing in here.
