Within being Exile

It wasn't the whispering of old tales when I was the angst teen

Never it was how many people tell me how I'm blessed and lucky

That was never the truth

Because nobody knew the lies behind my flaking skin

How I screamed my name in the distance

When it had no meaning to me

My fingers can fall to the pavement, and I would have no desire to continue

For everyone has strapped on a cape onto each other and onto myself

Because they told me I was, I had the look and the heart of one

Fixed to smile and wave like them while I feel nothing like these egoists

Because I know within the celebration

I'll be boxed or put back on the top shelf

I walked inward instead of outward

I breathe in my dust, build my bones, and sacrifice my blood with tears

Broke myself with memories, mistakes, and constant crossfires

The brightest grins

thought I was trying to be a villain or to push myself over the edge,

They wish

For they wanted an enemy to push down as a pedestal

But I don't value virtue nor in any victory

For they were the same ones who rip my wings in my youth

I'll never belong with the angels, I wasn't really invited

But the demons will step away from me as well

For which I can smirk on those dangers as if the sun is setting

They would all run, yet I can see how fun it is

I can feel the fever in my laugh, the oblivion that meets my eyes

I gain a different pace and fury that has defined me

I became something defiant yet unstoppable natural force

I have finally prevailed as the monster for what they have done to me

That's what I have found
