Nightmares have slipped through my life like my second shadow,
suffocating me through the day and finding a friend in me at night.
I closed my eyes to find a life beyond the one I'm in,
the dreams I hope would be reality
breathing in the beauty, exhaling the sorrows of lost tomorrows.
Find me a world where my heart can last longer than expected,
one where there are dragons that live amongst us,
or where fairytales are no longer just part of our dreams.
If I must find the world alone, then I will forever keep my eyes shut
to live the life I was meant for.
