*

Old Mother Combs was late for church

So she jumped on her broom made of birch

She settled safely into her perch

And took off in a hurried lurch

**

Cackle cackle

My voice a-crackle

You wear a shackle

Do you hear the jackal?

It raises my hackle.

***

With an itch

And a twitch

She makes the switch

For no one is as rich

As a witch

****

As I sit and compose

A poem about a rose

The witch is busy with prose

That is for those

That are busy with shows

So it just goes

That no one can expose

Someone who grows

Her own herb rows

Then you will be the one who owes

fact or fictionhumor

About the Creator

Mother Combs

Come near, sit a spell, and listen to tales of old as I sit and rock by my fire. I'll serve you some cocoa and cookies as I tell you of the time long gone by when your Greats-greats once lived.
