Wisps of Beauty

Place beauty in a basket

and weave it further round the side.

Won't the unlucky ask it

for just a crumb to abide.

*

Stretch the straw enough to gape

and beauty will peer through confines.

She may not reveal her size and shape,

But twinkle her glow in little signs.

*

She'll sprinkle bits of herself from high

through the little holes between the straw.

And the unlucky may still heave a sigh

instead of chasing her glory in awe.

*

And her sprinkles may trickle to the ground,

and they may not know that they are gifted.

But the beauty is still so beautiful

when we dig the dirt, find it and life it.
