Wishing Star
A poem by Lizzy Pacem, written in December 2020 after a dream about laying in the garden with Am as he told her stories about the stars.

- Make a wish on a star,
But don't tell it or it won't come true;
If you throw it into the sky far enough
It just might come back to you.
- The wishing stars catch whispers made in the dead of night
From children all around;
They listen and watch each and every one
And wait for the wishers to make a sound.
- If you're faithful and keep your wish to yourself
The wishing stars will realize,
And your wish will make it back to you,
Coming true right before your eyes.
- When you make a wish on a star
Be very very sure
Because wishing stars are awfully picky
About the wishers that get more.
- Go make a wish on that wishing star,
And don't you breathe a word of it;
Throw it far and aim it right,
And don't you ever quit.
About the Creator
Lizzy Pacem
I have experienced many things over my long life, and all of these things influence my writing. I have been an advocate for the arts since the beginning of the concept of art, and I hope to inspire others to embrace their inner creators.
