Wintery Dance

Winter has arrived in style

Wintery Dance

Snowflakes twirl in the air

Softly landing on a branch

Trees receive a new wardrobe

Winter has arrived on the ranch

*

The clouds have released a bounty

An abundance of white flakes

Covering up our yesterday

With a velvety, blank page

*

The wintery frost unleashes

Fairytales from our inner child

To dance upon the crunchy earth

To shake white dust off our nose

*

To feel the tickle of feathered crystals

As they land on unmitted hands

To stick out our tongues

Tasting icy droplets as they land

*

In the distance is the sun

Shinning the surface bright

Our inner childhood souls reflected

While flakes rise and fall in a butterfly dance

You took me back to my childhood, Ali. Oh, how I loved catching snowflakes on my tongue and exploring the countryside in Winter. Nicely done!
