Winters Youth

Frosted Verse

Memories born in the foggy breath of winters frost,

forever freezing moments with-in crystal capsules of joy.

Watching waves of downy white float from above, covering stalks of winter wheat.

Where meadows once green and gold now lay beneath clouds of chalky white, blanketing a slumbering earth.

Sparkling diamonds in the morning light holds immeasurable wealth, whose value buys nothing but happiness and glee.

Shadowy forms dance with-in a misty fog, they are nothing more than shades of grey against a veil of white.

Bright eyes widen, unwrinkled faces crease with wonder, feeling delicate kisses of frost gently bite upon soft cheeks, now blushing red.

Crisp cool air breathes life into youthful souls, wrapped in woolen wear.

While boots crunch through layers of winters cake, climbing mystical mountains of white.

Squeals of delight echo across a frozen land, as children slide with speed of light.

Tumbling, turning, twisting they fall laying in laughter amidst the fluffy powder of icy cotton swirls.

Creating fields of angels who soar away unto the heavens, returning as snowflakes.

Cleansing the earth and rejuvenating the sad eyed youths of summer.

Jason, this was filled with vivid nostalgic imagery and sensations!! I loved this! My favourite line was "Crisp cool air breathes life into youthful souls" because that's how I feel watching snow fall outside or when I see the first frost!

Hey, one doesn't need to be a kid to enjoy it. I love snow, tasting the flakes, huddling in the cold and shoveling snow. Ah Winter. Bitter sweet time of the year. Well captured.
