we need loving arms to envelop us, to speak words of softness. to speak sincere solaces. we want to be tightly held and told we did nothing to deserve the struggles we are suffering through.

it is all honey balm to winter lips

what we refute is beyond the solaces. those much needed analytics of what we did wrong. course correction. redirection. taking full responsibility for our faulty creation.

the empowerment of winter’s kiss

it feels cold and unwelcome. rejected so strongly that it never becomes. spoken sympathies are effortlessly dispensed. empathy eased. but higher perspective? the insights to become forever free?

these are gifts of truth dismissed

Oooh the balm to winter lips metaphor is brilliant Kayleigh! Accepting the cold, hard truth will always be better than sugar coating! Nicely done!

  • And this is why I don't like to sugar coat things. I'm always brutally honest. I say it as it is. Honey balm to winter lips. I loved that analogy so much!
