Winter's Arrival

The North Wind blows

By K.B. Silver Published 2 months ago 1 min read

Drops descend in slanted

⛆ Vacillating bursts

A tease– Prickling skin

With temperature turns

Wafting patches of petrichor

Infiltrate, cleansing nostril and soul

Flurries atomize above

Sky and earth in copulation

Filtered light, shafts fall

The icy breath of a cloudburst squalls

Heralding the exodus of autumn

Pattering thupps echo

Solidifying drops grow in

Texture and volume

Subtly transitioning to

Glistening pearls •°.ೃ࿔:・₊

Bombing slow-built ant hills

Kicking up pollen-laden dust

Icy spheres diminish, and fluff

Puffy clumps of flecks cling to

Branches, moist, and shivering

Glistening greenery

Crackles and freezes

Boreas forcefully exhales ༄.°

A crystal tempest rushes in

Minutes pass, the time warp expands

Shaken in a snow globe

Glitter quickly piling up

White lines thicken, softening

Ring the chimes

Beautiful work, KB! You certainly brought Winter to life. I love the whole snowglobe effect. My daughter collects them, and your reference brought back many fine memories.🥰

That's a beautiful and vivid poem! I really love how you captured the whole journey from rain to snow. The imagery is so strong I could practically feel that chill!
