Winter, Be Gone
It’s been a long hard winter, and still no end in sight

Winter, Be Gone
Icebound mornings, dark no light,
Endless hours swallowed by night.
Frost clings fierce, a bitter thread,
Whispering ghosts, warmth has fled.
Trees stand hollow, wind cuts deep,
Buried dreams in snowdrifts sleep.
Even the stars have lost their glow,
Frozen in time, too numb to know.
Footsteps vanish, lost to white,
Echoes swallowed, hushed in blight.
The world is weary, bent and sore,
A prisoner locked behind the door.
No song bird, no breath of bloom,
Only silence, heavy gloom.
Winter lingers, cruel, unkind,
Holding spring in chains that bind.
But listen close—the ice will break,
A crack, a drip, a thaw, a wake.
The earth still turns, the sun will shine,
No cold can last for all of time.
So go now, winter, fade, retreat,
Loosen your grip, admit defeat.
Your reign is done, your spell undone,
Spring will rise—your time is gone.
