Willpower Fuels
Companion, follow-on Nonet to "calloused willpower, truncated heart" for Breakup Nonet Challenge
By Paul StewartPublished about a year ago • Updated about a year ago • 1 min read
Real, fleshy, sweaty arousal
remains, the fakery vanishes
disarming the addiction
Standing with my head high
crushing that demon
repeatedly
willpower
fuels my
win

Thanks for reading!
Author's Notes: This is a companion, follow-on nonet to calloused willpower, truncated heart, linked below. Hannah Moore suggested in the comments I do another one after that one that showed the follow-through of getting back up. I actually had three different options, very similar, but after some deliberation and insight from Ruth Stewart, this was the best one of the three.

This just reminds me that I seriously need to invest in your poetry book!! The way you weave these words and it elicits such evocative feelings (from all readers) is truly breath taking!! Those last few lines are so motivational for me "willpower fuels my win"... this applies to so much more than addiction!! 💚 Amazing work, as always Paul!!
I marvel at how you can write these and every one feels personal
Great work. That's what everyone needs to have more willpower in living their ways.
